Ecclesiastes 7:8-9

The end of a matter is better than its beginning; likewise, patience is better than pride. Do not let yourself be quickly provoked, for anger resides in the lap of fools.

The end of a matter is better than its beginning, and patience is better than pride. Do not be quickly provoked in your spirit, for anger resides in the lap of fools.

The end of a thing is better than its beginning; The patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit. Do not hasten in your spirit to be angry,For anger rests in the bosom of fools.

Finishing is better than starting. Patience is better than pride. Control your temper, for anger labels you a fool.

Better is the end of a thing than the beginning thereof: and the patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit. Be not hasty in thy spirit to be angry: for anger resteth in the bosom of fools.

I’ve heard that patience is a virtue. I haven’t ever heard that pride is a virtue, or that anger is a virtue. This is because they are not. As you experience life, become versed in the practice of patience. Practice listening and hearing people out. Practice not creating presumptuous outcomes before a conversation with a friend you think might have wronged you. Pray and seek God when you are challenged and frustrated, and allow Him to fill your heart and attitude with forgiveness. You will be provoked to act rashly and separate from God in this life. Don’t take the bait.
